Guide on how to buy a computer

This may sound silly. But, sure, you need the money. What is the essential things you need to know about the computer.

If you need a basic computer with low cost, this guide is not for you. But, if you are an average person wants to buy a computer, let's check out the best criteria to be considered.

1. Applications
Are you an information seeker? If yes, you need a desktop or laptop. But, if you just want to read emails from friends, tablet pc or PDA is just enough. But, the screen size is much smaller.

Nowadays, we have so many type of computers. I personally think if you don't have much money, go and buy a laptop because you can carry it wherever you go. There are two types of laptop, the smaller and normal. What is the difference? It's the performance. Standard size of laptop has better performance. Continue reading, i'll show you how.

2. Type of operating system
Common type is Windows, Mac or Linux. Windows and Mac are not free, you can use linux if you don't have money. Free operating system like Ubuntu is very good. The wordpressor software, OPEN OFFICE is the most stable open source software. In other words, you don't have to dig your pocket.

If you choose window, check for 32-bit and 64-bit. Windows 32-bit can accomodate until 4GB of ram while window 64-bit can go for 8GB of ram. Please check your motherboard compatibility.

3. Performance
Well, check the following basic things when you want to buy a computer.

a) processor - intel core two duo is much better than celeron in terms of performance. Look for the value after the alphabert such TXXXX or QXXXX. T9400 is better that T5700
b) memory - need minimum 1 GB for Windows Vista
c) hard disk size - bigger is better
d) graphic card - mostly integrated, no need unless you are graphic enthusiast
